What might the future really bring for Environmental Science? From smart phones and augmented reality to data portals and citizen science, this talk will explore new technologies and how they might influence everything from species recording to science communication. The future is now!

Phil is an Environmental Data Scientist who specialises in lake catchment science and data collection / dissemination. He manages the recently-launched UK Lakes Portal, which is the central hub for UK lake data and research. He previously worked for 7 years in forestry, assessing the risks and mitigation of climate change.

Dr Philip Taylor of the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology will present this lecture at 18:00h. Tea available from 17:30.
